FAQ – Dialogue Network

What is the difference between BLOG, NEWS, MESSAGE etc?

The different types of posts are used to differentiate between what is published. This makes it easier to sort the different types of post and find the information one is looking for.

The BLOG function can be used to post your own personal blog. These will only be published in your profile. In other words, other network members must access your profile to read your blog.

Can everyone see this post?

When you have added a text it will only be visible for you, until you change the “rights” to the text.
The exeption is if you add a blog post or a organization news.
BLOGposts  are automaticly sendt to everyone in your organization and everyone in your contactlist.
ORGANIZATION NEWS are automaticly sendt to your organization.

You do this by pressing the headline to the post (NEWS, BLOG, MESSAGE/MAIL etc.). When you have done this two tabs will appear at the top of the page: Content and Edit. Press edit. Then, press "click to edit recipient list". A box will appear and those persons, projects and organizations that have access to the post will be visible. If nothing appears in the box, it means that you are the only one who has access.

To add more people, projects or organizations – press "Send to". A new window will be opened (remember to turn of the popup blocker). In this window you will find a list over those you can send to. Choose between "Organization", "Project" and "Contact". Press "Send to" next to those you wish to send to, and press "Close window" when you are finished, and the changes will be saved automatically.

Should the contacts appear outside the box and a red/pink box with the text “Changes not saved" is visible: press the tab "Save Changes".

If you wish to remove recipients, uncheck the checkbox next to the recipients name and press "Save Changes".

Can I edit a post someone else has published?

The members/users of the webpage have different roles. The different roles determine which rights the users have.

Administrators (Admin) can edit posts that are shown in the groups one administrates. The administrator of the ISFiT (organization) can edit the post which all members of the access to. The administrator of the ISFiT (organization) can edit the post which all members of the users have access to. The administrator of the Dialogue Network (project) can edit the post which all members of the Dialogue Network can read.

Can I choose and edit my own username?

Usernames cannot be chosen randomly, as it must be unique. For safety reasons it is not possible to search for available user names.

What is External Contacts?

External contacts is a tool to find out if anyone in the network have contact which might be of use to you in your work, and to add your own contact, that might be of use to other.

When you want to add an external contact you can register email, phone and comment.

When using the search function in external contacts (search my network), you will only get hits on external contacts you or other people in your network know. When searching for a contact you will find everyone in your network who knows this contact, and will be able to get in contact with the external contact through them. If you don’t get any hits on your search, it means that you don’t know anybody who knows the external contact.

Dialogue Network is not to be used as a phone book, due to private policy reasons. For this reason you can only access external contacts through someone you know.

How does one answer an email/message?

You use the comments function to answer mail and messages one has received.
